Annika Wade, born in 1997 and from Little Rock, AR, is an interdisciplinary painter expanding into the world of installation. She specifically calls attention to generational patterns, emphasizing how they have evolved throughout time and how they continue to affect contemporary society. Annika breaks down her own healing process within her work and showcases individual moments of vulnerability that are inevitable throughout this journey. She creates relatability with her figurative works that draw the viewer to take a curious approach to these heavy topics. She believes in creating representation for voices that have been squandered for generations and in shining a positive light on the mental health and overcoming inherited patterns.

She recently acquired her BFA at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with an emphasis in painting. She is currently building her portfolio and working at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock, AR in preparation for her MFA. She received the artLAUNCH grant 2023.
